What Does Jesus Want?

Last week, God used an incident to test me twice. Last Wednesday, I woke up at 7.11am and realised that I would be late for my lesson which was scheduled at 8am. I need one hour to travel (alone). Even if I had a quick shower, I could only leave the house at 7.35am. I could have responded to that incident in two ways. Firstly, Mum is the one who would wake me up everyday but she failed to do so on that day. I could have blamed her for my mishap. However, I was reminded that God would not be glorified or pleased by that. Therefore, I got myself to praise Him for the morning and waking me up at that time.

I decided to take a cab to Lavendar station to transfer to train. It was about 7.30am, which is the peak hour and many people will be standing along the pavement to wait for cabs. However, there was no one else waiting except me. The cab came in less than one minute's of waiting. Thank God!

As the cab was approaching my destination, the meter showed $3.10. In order to eliminate the waiting time for the driver to return my change, I took out a fifty cents. It was $3.30 when the meter was stopped. I paid the driver and told him that he need not return my change, then I got off. At that point of time, he was saying something but I could not process it until he drove off. I realised that I paid him $10.50. There went my $7.20.

My heart ached. I was blaming myself while waiting for the train to arrive. Then I remembered that I should set my focus on God. I desire God more than money. Perhaps God was using me to give to the driver. I got myself to commit my thoughts to Him and I continued the next chapter of Pierced by the Word.

"Therefore do not be anxious, saying, "What shall we eat?" or "What shall we drink?" or "What shall we wear?"... Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

(Matthew 6:31-33)

The Lord rebuked me once again.

I was not marked late because there was a grace period of twenty minutes.

This is my desire,
to honor You.
Lord with all my heart,
I worship You.
All that is within me,
I give You praise.
All that I adore, is in You.

Lord I give You my heart,
I give You my soul,
I live for You alone.
Every breath that I take,
Every moment I'm awake,
Lord have Your way in me.
