If the Lord were to come today, what will happen to me? This is one of the questions that many Christians have neglected. Some possible causes are that they may think that all Christians are saved and they should go to heaven and there is nothing to worry about. They tend to take it for granted. Another reason is that they are too engaged in earthly activities that they have never allowed this question to cross their minds. Thirdly, they may be avoiding this question as they could not come out with an absolute response.
Whatever the reason, I think that every Christian should seriously consider this question. There are three processes of a Christian. They will be justified, sanctified and then glorified. A Christian is justified on that day he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour. This is because once a person received Christ, it means that he has repented and turned away from his old ways. Thus, he is no longer seen as a sinner but a repented being, therefore, justified. After being a Christian, he is not yet complete. He has to be sanctified. Which means he will let God take control and continue to mould him into the person He desires. This is done during our days on earth. Glorification takes place after we died and resurrected like Christ. He will judge us, glorify us before we inherit the eternal life with Him.
Therefore, I shall ask the question again. Have we really allow the Lord to sanctify us? Sometimes, a Christian that doesn't obey God's word is considered worse than a non-believer. We call them Christians-by-name or Sunday-Christians. They proclaim to be Christians but they do not behave like Christians. They curse with their tongues which are supposed to be used to praise God. In the bible, it says that a tongue cannot be used to curse and to praise God, just as fresh water and salt water don't flow from the same spring. Although some of them do attend their respective churches regularly, their motives are different. This is what it means by impurity in motive and worship.
If a Christian is unclean, how can the Lord use him any longer? It is really a pity to see some Christians around me who are not devoted to the Lord. They either curse or commit themselves in earthly activities with the non-believers. Furthermore, they also act as stumbling block and negative impact on the non-believers. They (the non-believers) may change their perspective of a Christian and this will make it harder for "true Christian" to reach out to them.
To make the matter worse, there is a saying quoted from a book, "If you want to find the devil, you can find him in church." How can a devil and a Christian compromise with each other? It may sound weird in certain sense but that is a truth. Furthermore, in the bible, Jesus urged the believers in faith to be committed to one another, love one another and spur one another on in faith, in deeds. However, nowadays you will see Christians going against christians (I will use a lowercase "c" to indicate 'fake' christians). While the Christians are trying their best to save lives, those christians destroy lives. They (christians) will even sometimes criticise and curse Christians. Is this the way that the Lord wants? I believe that whenever He sees this kind of situations, He would weep. Because this means that His death is in vain.
My fellow brothers and sisters in the name of Christ, I now urge and warn all of you, that if you belong to the christian category, do not love the world any longer. Our Lord Jesus Christ is calling out to you, my fellow brethrens and sisters. Awake from your sleep now and sincerely ask for forgiveness. The blood that shed at Calvary by our Lord will grant you the freedom that will set you free from sins. Stop being deceived by the world, resist from all the temptations and pray for wisdom. Jesus loves you, my brothers and sisters. Come back to Him before it becomes too late. The Lord is your only dwelling place that will last.
My fellow brothers and sisters who are doing the work of our Almighty Lord. I urge you to keep the command written in Hebrews in your hearts. "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in habit of doing. But let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day approaching." Continue your good work in the Lord and He will bless you. And in the midst of doing it, keep our other brothers and sisters who are lost, in mind. Pray for them that they may wake up from their sleep. Do as the scripture says. But do not take them as your enemies but warn them as fellow brothers in the name of Christ.
Dear Lord, I come to you with a weary heart. Teach us to be genuine Christians who live by your Word. Teach us to love, Lord, to convert hatred into love because You first loved us. May we walk according to Your will so that we may be justified, sanctified and lastly glorified. Father, I sincerely pray for the brothers and sisters who are lost. That dear Lord, You may forgive them because they have unknowingly fallen into temptations. My Lord, wake them up from their sleep for good and evil can never compromise with each other. May the Holy Spirit soften their hearts as the work of salvation works in them again. And I pray for those who are working hard for Your kingdom that Lord, You will bless us. Keep us committed and devoted to Your teaching, Your Word and Your commands. Keep us pure in faith, in truth, in motive, in belief, in relationship and in our character and worship. Let everyone of us be Christian that proclaim the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we proclaim, let us also claim the nations that are lost. May Your name be greatly praised. In Jesus' name, Amen.
In the image of God,
