You're The Answer To My Prayers

The past will always remain as the past. History seldom repeats itself in the future. Learning to release and to let go of what we once treasured is something that each of us ought to do. Lingering in the past while living in the present will lead you to no future. The past can do nothing but to hold you back and stop you from moving on into the future where your dreams are waiting for you.

To love and to be loved is something that cannot be lacking in anyone's life. In life, we tend to get attracted by some people around us and we thought that is love. However, we always never get to know the genuine meaning of love. Love is more than care and concern. Love is more than the importance of that person to you. Perhaps no one on this earth can really comprehend the deepest meaning of love.

Love is a gift from God. He displayed the meaning of true love by sending His one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to enter this corrupted world. Love was once again displayed when the Lord was crucified on the Cross for us.

What is the love among mankind then? What do we really mean when we say 'I love you" to someone of the opposite gender?

The phrase "I love you" should not be expressed in words, because words worth nothing. However, it should be express through actions. It should be expressed through the ways you treat that person and through the ways you make sacrifices for that person. The amount of sacrifices and the amount of actions are only ways for us to expressed our love for that person. However, they do not act as methods for us to measure the level of love we have for that person. The only 'instrument' to measure love is the heart. Although it doesn't speak in words, it speaks through feelings. It is only you heart that knows how much you really love that person or perhaps whether you really do like that person. The heart is the best 'instrument' because it is a place where that person lives in you.

We may have loved more than one person in our lives. The first one came, stayed and left. Although she left, she did not take her belongings along because her belongings do not belong to her alone. They are shared. They are memories. They will take up the memory space of your heart. The more the belongings she left behind, the more cramp your heart is. Therefore, it will really take up quite some times for the clearing up to take process before the heart can became a condusive place for another person again.

However, the 'clearing up' process doesn't seem as simple as the usual house-cleaning. It is like disposing the things you brought forward from your childhood days. They are sentimental objects and they cause you to think thrice before disposing them. And usually, you would put them back into the drawers or cupboards as you really couldn't bear to throw them away. It is like the memories. Unlike a computer where you can easily delete the files and empty the recycle bin, you need a lot of courage in order to erase your memories.

And sometimes in the process of 'clearing-up', you may have another person coming into your life. Maybe she doesn't even mind about the belongings that the previous person has left behind. However, due to the many things that we chose to keep and preserve, we have little space left to accept the another her. We lost confidence for a relationship. We are afraid that we might take her as a substitution for the previous her.

How to tidy up the heart and make it empty enough for someone else to stay in?

Well, I am still learning to. Or perhaps, I am unable to.

I Will Be Still And Know You Are God

Many things and events in this temporal world seems to occupy most of our time. However, the Creator, who deserves the most of us, is gradually neglected by us. There are so many things that we have to accomplish. Be it our studies, projects or the work of our daily lives. We tend to live such lives on our own, with our very limited abilities.

When troubles come, we would always run around panicking about what to do next and how to solve the problem. Many times, we got defeated by trials and temptations around us - we broke down. Is this the life we ought to live for the rest of our days on this world?

The same thing goes for the sharing of the Good News of the Gospel. We tend to preach in accordance to our own human ways. We preach with our own wisdom. We preach with our own desire. We preach for the sake of preaching. We preach to fulfil the Great Commission but without knowing the reason and meaning of what we are doing.

Where do the Lord stand then? Are we not preaching the Gospel for the greater of His Kingdom? Is He not the one who deserve the highest honour, highest praise? Is He not the one who provide us with all our needs? But have we ever return to our source?

My dear Brothers & Sisters in the Lord, let us stop behaving like pagans out there living lives on their own. Since the day of our rebirth, we have been redeemed by the Blood of Christ. We regained freedom, we are saved by faith. The Lord is there always, waiting to listen to our prayers and requests, waiting to grant us our petitions.

Let us find rest and peace on the Lord. Let us dwell in His presence. Let us fix our eyes on Him, not on this world. But in all that you do, remember all He wants is You.

Hide me now,
under Your wings.
Cover me,
within Your mighty hands.

When the oceans rise
and thunders roar,
I will soar with You
above the storm.
Father you are king over the flood.
I will be still and know you are God.

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know His power
In quietness and trust

She Who Still Lives In My Heart

There are many thoughts which are currently running through my mind. They seem so detailed but they became so unclear that I am unable to pen them all down. Browsing through the photographs and the annual yearbooks, I realised that there are so much things that hold me back. The friends and teachers that were once close to me, the places in school where I used to visit. The events and activities I participated. And most of all, the someone whom I cannot forget.

The letters and notes which we once wrote, the common songs we once sang and the common tunes we once heard. The letters and notes, their contents may be words of encouragement or news that hurt. Nevertheless, I still have them properly arranged and kept in my drawer. Having them read again will always make me reminisce about the past. What treasured possessions I have! The songs and tunes we composed, they are well-secured and are carefully being preserved.

I have tried writing a few letters to her, expecting she would reply to at least one. However, each time was only another disappointment.

I wonder if she still remembers the following:

" I have found my island,
Going to anchor at the shore nearby,
Waiting for the island to let me in.
From afar, I will admire the island and dream of my future.
I have learnt how to swim in the big blue sea. "

I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Gives Me Strength

After the London blasts, I was once again reminded that life is indeed so fragile. No one would know what would happen the next minute. After tonight's sleep, will we be able to see the sunrise again?

There are so many things happening around me that really affect my morale. The more I think of them, the more miserable and fearful I get. However, I know that avoiding them will never make it better. There are so many assignments and projects for me to complete and their deadlines are around the corner. However, my team members do not seem to cooperate with each other. I tried calling them but they always fail to pick up the phone. I wonder if I have chosen the wrong group. Sometimes I got really pissed by them. However, I know that being angry will lead me to nowhere. I really do not know what to do.

Next week will be a really packed and busy week for me, although I need not attend school on Wednesday. I have to finish up the Flash backdrop for the Arts Nite by Wednesday, finish my mathematics assignment by Thursday and submit the ITOS project on Friday. None of them is completed. I am starting to feel the sense of urgency. I really need TIME & ENERGY to continue. Pray for me k?

"Dear Lord, thank You for giving me life. Thank You for granting me mercy and grace so that I can live. May I live this life by faith and not by sight. May I make this life a pleasing gift for You. Dear Lord, I need strength. There are so many things coming and there are so many things that I have to accomplish. I really cannot see myself having the energy and strength to move on. Grant me strength, my Lord. May I be able to use my time wisely and set my priorities right. However, in the midst of busyness, may I not neglect You at any part of my life."
